Deeg Museum was established in the year 2003 ,organized with the collection of articles, furniture etc. used by the Maharajas of Deeg and their family members. There are now 547 documented articles in the collection. Best among them are on display in Gopal Bhavan and Kishan Bhavan.
The Gopal Bhawan housing major portion of the museum is one of the largest and most imposing of all the buildings built within the Deeg palace complex. Maharaja Suraj Mal built Kishan Bhavan and Gopal Bhavan during 1756–63 AD. The objects displayed in the galleries include the main hall, Man Singh hall, English and Indian dining halls, Maharaja’s bedroom, ADC room, Billiards room, Maharaja’s room, Queen’s and Zenana apartments of Gopal Bhavan, an imposing sandalwood sculpture of Lord Venugopal greets the visitors. Other objects include the cigarette case and scent case of elephant legs, wooden hand driven cooler, old furniture, Persian carpets.
There is no separate entry ticket for the museum as it is located within the monument premises (Deeg Bhawans).
